Paris could have done up to six months under California Law

Driving on a Suspended License Facts

The DMV can suspend or revoke your driver's license for many reasons, including driving under the influence, drug possession, not carrying auto liability insurance, not filing an SR1 traffic collision report after an accident, medical conditions, failure to pay child support, and other reasons.

Driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license is a misdemeanor criminal charge, and you can be arrested and taken into custody. The punishments for driving on a suspended license can include a fine of up to $1000 and up to six months in jail. If you have previous criminal traffic convictions, the fine and jail time can both be increased. You may be required to install an ignition interlock device on your car, and in some cases, the State of California may take away your car.

Paris Hilton was sentenced to jail. The judge clearly said that she was not to be released early, or go under house arrest with an ankle bracelet.

Sheriff Baca directly violated this judges wishes, and should therefore be recalled.

Recall Sheriff Lee Baca.

Please.

We need to send the right message to our youth, they are corrupt enough as it is, we don't need to make things worse.

What kind of an example does this set when a person who violates their parole gets 3 days in a private cell? She repeatedly broke the law, ignored her punishment, and now, apparently, doesn't have to finish serving her time.

Completely unfair. I would be pissed off right now if I had the same charges, yet were serving even 1 hour longer in jail than Paris has.

Take the time to remember D-Day

I noticed there was absolutely NO mention of D-Day on this morning's "news" programs.

How sad.

We have an entire generation now that has no memory or knowledge of the sacrifices that previous generations have made on their behalf.

We used to try to provide for a better future for our children.

Now the only thing we provide is fear, and hopelessness.

We truly will be worse off as a country when the last of the "Great Generation" kicks the bucket.

What we really need now is a draft.

Make the kids of today go off to fight a war in a foreign land, that ought to straighten 'em out!

Former Top Rove Aide Resigns after Revelation of Illegal Voter 'Caging'

Big media is ignoring the story that former White House Deputy Communications Director Tim Griffin resigned as the U.S. Attorney in Arkansas last week after evidence revealed he was directly involved in voter suppression in the 2004 elections.... I knew the voters in this country didn't want Bush to take office! Now we are beginning to see what really happened. I bet we NEVER voted for him. Let's take another good, hard look at the 2000 & 2004 elections, and the claims of voter suppression, fraud and voter intimidation that came with them. Can you say "Hanging Chad"? I knew that you could.
