Speck is a black guy, originally from Brooklyn. He is also, tragically, a thalidomide baby. His mother was given thalidomide during her pregnancy, and Speck was born with severe birth defects: tiny flippers for arms and malformed, dysfunctional legs. He has lived in a wheelchair his whole life... and he happens to be a drug dealer.
